Ways of Participating

Attending or contributing to a council meeting during the current Covid circumstances

Although national restrictions have eased, the Council encourages residents to exercise good public health habits to limit the spread of Covid-19. The council is currently running hybrid meetings, whereby some participants are present in the meeting room, whilst others join the meeting remotely.

Those wishing to make contributions to meetings can attend in person or remotely

Should you wish to attend the town hall in person, either to contribute to or just watch a meeting, we would ask, in the interests of keeping everybody safe, that you read and observe the council’s general guidance about keeping safe during Covid. In particular we would ask that you:

  • Contact the committee officer for the meeting to agree any arrangements beforehand (see the agenda for contact details of the committee officer)
  • Wear a face mask when entering and walking around the town hall
  • Observe good hand hygiene, washing regularly and properly
  • Find out about how you can get a Covid vaccination or booster

More advice on the above can be found on the Council’s Coronavirus information pages

Should you prefer to contribute to a meeting remotely, you can do so easily by using the Microsoft Teams software. Joining a meeting with Teams is easy and just requires a suitable device with an internet connection.

Those wishing to watch a meeting are encouraged to do so by watching the webcast, which can be found on the Council’s website. All formal council, cabinet and committee meetings are webcast and can be viewed in real time.
