Consultation process
2.1 In February, the division commissioned an appraisal of the
sector. The research was based on multiple rounds of engagement
with service users, providers, council officers and existing
published research. The research collected data from over 200
residents regarding needs, current experiences and preferences of
access to information and advice.
2.2 The research included interviews with service providers, an
online service user survey, semi-structured service user
interviews, focus groups with providers and service users, and
service user surveys carried out by peer researchers at a range of
locations including leisure centres, schools, housing estates, Idea
Stores and at various community centres.
2.3 In addition, the commissioning team held a series of
co-production workshops with service providers and service users to
help develop a future model.
