Consultation process
Extensive consultation with the public and key partners was undertaken to develop the Housing Strategy - including its commitment to adopt a Private Renters’ Charter. Additional consultation to develop the detail of the charter has taken place with the public, other directorates, registered providers, professional and trade bodies, and the third sector.
This was undertaken through face-to-face interviews, public meetings, on-line survey, a working group of third sector agencies and renters’ groups, a working group of registered providers, a landlord forum, and discussions with landlord and agency bodies such as Association of Residential Lettings Association and Residential Landlords Association.
Has an Equality Analysis been carried out and if so the result of this Assessment?: No. An extensive EQIA was carried out on the overarching 2016 - 2021Housing Strategy including a comprehensive section on the Private Rented Sector. The outcome of the Housing Strategy EQIA assessment has informed the development of this report and the Tower Hamlets Private Renters' Charter. Completed 28 April 2017
