Consultation process
Bethnal Green Gardens:
Through meetings with parks staff. Advertising in local papers and signs in the vicinity of the proposed development.
Museum Gardens Toilet Block:
In February 2013 a meeting was held with representatives of those who had objected to the proposed demolition of the building. There was a concensus that the Council should seek a change of use as well as approval to grant a lease for a term of 15 years so that it would be more likely to attract potential investors interested in bringing the facility back into use. Any end user would be required to provide a public toilet, open for hours to be agreed and written into the lease.
Consultees
Bethnal Green Gardens:
Parks staff have been consulted with regard to impact on parks users.
The planning process involved public consultation and no major objections were made.
Museum Gardens Toilet Block:
Through the design process there has been extensive consultation with LBTH Parks to determine the best use and design of the building. The project also draws off the results of previous consultation carried out with LBTH Public Realm (Transport and Highways section), LBTH Community Safety and
Operations (concerning CCTV in particular), local area groups including ‘Friends of Bethnal Green’ as well
as LBTH Conservation and Planning.
A public meeting was held after objections to original proposals for the building to be demolished and landscaped into the park.
The planning process allowed for public comment on the proposed plans.
