Issue details
Revised approach to day support in adult social care
This item sets out a proposal for the future
of day support in adult social care. Day support provision has
changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic: A number of day services have
been remodelled to provide bespoke support to individuals through
telephone contact, home visits and supporting people to get out
into the community.
This item proposes that we build on this change, developing a new
model of day support that has a greater focus on community access
hubs and our strengths-based approach to adult social care.
The proposal includes previously agreed savings of £317,000
per year from 2021-22 and proposes additional savings of
£252,000 as part of the 2021-24 Medium-Term Financial
Strategy.
