Issue details
Violence and Vulnerability Exploitation Strategy;
The Violence, Vulnerability and Exploitation
Strategy (VVE) replaces the previous “Ending Gang
Violence” Strategy. We have chosen to broaden the context of
the current strategy to reflect the emerging learning and the
growing recognition that youth violence is increasingly linked to
many other issues, and particularly to issues of sexual and
criminal exploitation and vulnerability.
The new strategy sets out the revised aims and priorities for the
Council in continuing to address these issues. The report also
highlights the continued importance of the collaborative work with
key partners to reduce the levels of concern and risk for our young
people.
The updated Strategy has been required to ensure that our approach
to VVE now incorporates emerging approaches and understanding of
these issues.
