Council response
Proposed Strategy to deal with Antisocial Behaviour within Goldman Close, E2
Further to your petition dated 26th May 2023 re the proposed installation of gates to help manage Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) within the Close, in response to this the Council’s ASB Officer for the area and the Protective Security and Crime Prevention Manager conducted an Environmental Visual Audit (EVA) of the location to consider what physical improvements could be implemented to reduce further incidents of ASB.
We have subsequently received a quote for works from our repairs contractor to close off the alleyway from Chiltern Street leading to Goldman Close and residents of the estate will be consulted on this shortly.
Additionally it was agreed that new Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) signage would be installed on the streetlight column situated on Bacon Street near the entrance to the small car park. Patrols of the estate by the Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers (THEOs) and Parkguard Neighbourhood Patrol Officers have also continued.
I would strongly encourage residents to continue report any
incidents of ASB or drug related activity they may witness
· by e-mail at THH.ASB@towerhamlets.gov.uk
· by telephone on 020 7364 5015 (Option 6)
Yours sincerely
