ELBA - Building Legacies 3 Match Funding Grant PDF 444 KB Additional documents: Decision: DECISION:
1. To approve the grant of £25,000 to ELBA to allow the Council to continue to participate as a delivery partner in the Building Legacies Programme.
Minutes: Chris Burr (Head of Growth)) presented the report. The report sought permission to approve the grant of £25,000 to ELBA to allow the Council to continue to participate as a delivery partner in the Building Legacies Programme. Members of Sub-Committee asked the following questions and comments: · What the benefit to the council would come from this scheme? Officers confirmed that around 70 businesses would be supported with this funding and this could possibly generate £1m for the local economy. · How will these 70 businesses be found and encouraged to take part in the programme? Officers stated the process, highlighting that micro and small businesses are eligible to apply and smaller family run businesses from the borough could be targeted to apply through the programme.
RESOLVED: 1. To approve the grant of £25,000 to ELBA to allow the Council to continue to participate as a delivery partner in the Building Legacies Programme.

1. To note the update on funding awarded to Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations under delegated authority since their last meeting. Minutes: Afazul Hoque, Head of Corporate Strategy & Communities, provided an update on funding awarded to Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations under delegated authority since the last meeting of the Sub-Committee. Members of Sub-Committee asked the following questions and comments: · The sub-committee noted that the current grant processes is under review, the delegated authority around grant funding is now with the chair. · Officers agreed to provide members with greater detail on the grant awarded to Tower Hamlets Volunteer Police Cadets. RESOLVED: 1. To note the update on funding awarded to Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations under delegated authority since their last meeting.

Local Community Fund (LCF) Performance Report April 2022-June 2022 PDF 442 KB Additional documents:

1. To note the performance of the Local Community Fund (LCF) programme as set out in 3.2 to 3.7 and Appendix 2 to the report for April to June 2022.
2. To note the change of RAG ratings for Age UK East London’s Caxton Hall and Friend at Home projects, moves from RED to AMBER and then GREEN, which has permitted the release of project funds due to Age UK for work on these projects, as outlined in section 3.2 (f) of the report.
3. To note the updates on the funded organisations in Council premises and the Infrastructure & Capacity Building funding as set out in 3.8 to 3.9 of the report.
4. That a report is submitted to the next available meeting of the sub-committee providing further details and clarity on the variation of the Infrastructure and Capacity Building Grant and including a proposal to change the end date of the Infrastructure & Capacity Building grant to 30th September 2023 to bring it line with other grant programmes. Minutes: Afazul Hoque, Head of Corporate Strategy & Communities presented the report that covers the period April 2022 to June 2022 and reports on the five themes of the LCF and the Infrastructure & Capacity Building funding. Members of Sub-Committee asked the following questions and comments: · The council should be more ambitious with its voluntary and community grant funding and the council is reviewing how and why it gives out funding, to ensure the public are getting better value for money from the number of organisations that are funded. · Grants should be brought in line with other programs to ensure that funding is uniform across the board till 2023.
