Bishop Challoner School redevelopment The Mayor has approved land disposal arrangements and the adoption of a capital estimate in connection with the proposed development of a community centre at the Bishop Challoner School. In particular the Mayor has:-
1. Approved the acquisition of Network Rail’s unencumbered freehold interest in the Lukin Open Space, as shown verged black on the plan at Appendix 1;
2. Approved the sale to Network Rail of the Council’s freehold interest in the land at Poonah Street, as shown with hatching on the plan at Appendix 1;
3. Approved the sale to Network Rail of the Council’s freehold interest in the strip of land at Cantrell Road, as shown on the plan at Appendix 2;
4. Approved the adoption of a capital estimate £1,450,000 for the development of the new community centre;
5. Approved the proposal to enter into a lease with Westminster Diocese for the occupation of the proposed new community centre;
6. Authorised the Acting Corporate Director, Children, Schools & Families, the Director of Development & Renewal and the Assistant Chief Executive (Legal Services) to execute all necessary documents including the lease and all matters relating to the acquisition and disposal of land; and
7. Delegated authority to the Corporate Director for Development and Renewal to finalise and agree any necessary terms to ensure the Council is able to successfully complete the proposed disposal to the Diocese of Westminster, acquisition of appropriate Network Rail land as detailed above and the related sales to Network Rail.
The report relating to this decision is not for publication as it contains exempt information falling within paragraph 3 of Schedule 12a to the Local Government Act 1972 and the Monitoring Officer has concluded that in this case the public interest in maintaining exemption of the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it. |
