EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC In view of the contents of the remaining items on the agenda the Committee is recommended to adopt the following motion:
“That, under the provisions of Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, the press and public be excluded from the remainder of the meeting for the consideration of the Section Two business on the grounds that it contains information defined as Exempt in Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act, 1972.”

The exempt committee papers in the agenda will contain information, which is commercially, legally or personally sensitive and should not be divulged to third parties. Forthcoming Restructures To consider the report of the Divisional Director, Human Resources and Organisational Development, in respect of forthcoming restructures.
Additional documents: Minutes: Amanda Harcus, Divisional Director, Human Resources and Organisational Development, introduced the regular report listing any potential redundancies from forthcoming restructures where the overall severance package was likely to exceed £99.999. The report also provided detail of the public sector pay cap, which applies from November 4th 2020.
The Chair noted and agreed the Special Circumstances Justifying Urgent Consideration as set out in the report.
Four roles were listed in the report.
Further to questions from the Committee, officers explained that impacts on equalities and on services had been fully considered as part of the restructures and provided detail on the support the Council would make available to affected individuals.
The Committee reviewed the report and agreed the requests as set out.
RESOLVED
1. That the dismissals set out in the report be agreed.
2. That the Committee note and approve the redundancy payments that are a part of the individuals’ contractual terms and conditions of employment; that severance is an additional discretionary payment; and early payment of pension benefits linked to the Local Government Pensions Scheme (LGPS).
3. That the Committee note that where these exits take place after November 4th, each will be affected by the £95k cap limit.
