Issue details
Public Realm Improvements (Private Land Agreement) – Middlesex Street Regeneration Programme
Approval is required for a public realm
improvement scheme grant to be delivered under the Middlesex Street
Regeneration Programme as it will benefit the resident community,
businesses, market traders and visitors to the area.
The cost of the works will be paid for under the Middlesex Street
Regeneration Programme, with the private landowner benefiting from
an improved area of land and also in turn improving tenant
attraction for nearby vacant commercial units.
The scope of the public realm works include resurfacing an uneven
vacant concrete surface at the corner of 13 New Goulston Street
with York stone, installing new benches and planters, as well as
installing trees, plants and herb/vegetable garden for members of
the community to maintain in a safe space.
