Ageing Well Small Grants - 2019/20
The Grants Determination (Cabinet) Sub Committee is asked to:
• Agree to the process of inviting applicants for the 2019/20 Ageing Well Small Grants fund which aims to provide financial support to groups providing social activities and peer support to older people in the borough. GDSC will also be asked to delegate responsibility for agreeing the awards to the Joint Director of Integrated Commissioning.
• To consider the award of three grants from the 2018/19 fund, where applicants are operating from council-owned premises but without a current formal arrangement in place. Responsibility for agreeing awards for the 2018/19 was delegated to the Joint Director of Integrated Commissioning but the Legal viewpoint is that this does not include responsibility around issues related to premises.
A decision is required to ensure that the 2019/20 fund can potentially used by groups to fund Eid celebrations (in June 2019) and summer activities.

Consultation process
Organisations in receipt of an Ageing Well Small Grant in 2017/18 and 2018/19 have been engaged to ensure that the application process is clear and effective. Discussions with the Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy manager have taken place around running the Ageing Well Small Grants fund 2019/20 ahead of the introduction of the Council-wide Grants Framework which is due to come into effect in October 2019.
All organisations who received a grant in 20117/18 and 2018/19 are required to submit a feedback form, inviting comments on the process and scope of the grant fund.
