Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park - Fairfoot Road Biodiversity Project
In September 2019, Cabinet approved a PID for
improvements to Biodiversity, Community Gardening and Horticulture.
The central project to be developed as part of this programme is to
bring a currently unusable area of open space into public use at
Fairfoot Road. This project has been developed in partnership with
the borough’s Biodiversity Officer and the Friends of the
Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, and will cost £100,000 over 3
years to remove an extensive quantity of Japanese knotweed and
bramble, create paths and gates, install benches and bins and
create a woodland walkway to be funded through the Parks capital
programme.
