We the undersigned petition the council to We the undersigned petition the council to allow residents of Wapping to use the Bus Gate installed in Wapping. This was promised to residents during the consultation was ignored by the Council. The stated aim of the bus gate was installed to reduce rat-running not penalise actual vulnerable residents. The current bus gate is causing difficulties to vulnerable households, elderly reliant on intergenerational support and care. Households with disabled members of the family, and working families with children. It seems the consultation actively discriminated against working families, in particular the voices of females in these households. Women who are in the front line in terms of providing support to vulnerable members within their households and outside their households through intergenerational support, while at the same time contributing towards the household income. We are disappointed that such views were ignored and not represented by our elected members.
